Trainings & Seminars
Career development/K award support
The SQMC quantitative and qualitative methodologists have a long history of supporting early-stage investigators with career development grants, including NIH K awards.
Our research scientists are available to review and revise grant applications/protocols, provide guidance on aims, research strategy, and work scope concordant with the nature and funding of career development awards, often helping to visualize a stepwise approach to applying for grants with increasing levels of funding potential.
Once grants are awarded, SQMC staff provide task-specific training (e.g., moderator guide development, focus group moderation, data coding/analysis, survey item selection, validation, cognitive testing, formatting). These resources help applicants build strong grant components, including mentorship, research plans, and resource allocation.
UMass Boston—Harvard Cancer Consortium Partnership (U54) Seminar Series
The SQMC leads a seminar series focusing on statistical and methodological expertise, in conjunction with the UMB–HCC Partnership. Seminars are posted online and can be viewed on the Partnership website.
Other trainings/workshops
Other trainings will be provided throughout the year and will be posted here.
